So last night I went to yet another clothing swap.  3 hours of fun.  Hanging out with some friends in my underwear trying on things from each others closets (Sorry guys, swaps are usually ladies only.).  Discussing life, discussing the effects of gravity…

I brought 5 or 6 bags of stuff and left with 2 (I had some leftovers from a previous swap along with some stuff from my closet.).  Meg left with a large bag of stuff along with about 7 or 8 layers of clothing on her body  (Yeah, we decided that it would be fun for her husband to unwrap her.)

Why swap?

• It forces you to clean out your closet.  First to find clothes for the swap, and second to find space for your new finds.
• Consignment/resale stores weren’t giving us much for things we dropped off
• You get new-to-you clothes for FREE
• It’s a good time to catch up with your girl friends

So how does this swap thing work?

• The host provides an environment for spilling out a ton of clothing and shoes on to the floor, an area to try stuff on (usually the same place as the clothing pile), mirrors are helpful
• Guests bring their unwanted items (no used panties) and dump them out on the floor.
• Ladies start digging through the pile (usually in their underware) and try stuff on.
• Everyone takes as much or as little as they want. There is no minimum “buy-in” to take something home.  Sometimes you will bring 4 bags of stuff and leave with one.  Sometimes you bring one bag and leave with 4.
• At the end of the swap someone volunteers to take the leftover clothing to donate to charity.
