So I woke up in my bed to the sound of the angry kitty trying to convince me to get out of bed and pay attention to him (or let him out). I got my stuff together and headed back to M’s house to get the rest of my belongings for the day (and Rx drugs). We ended up taking 10hdg’s car so we could pick up our goodie bags for film and interactive.
Today was a bit of an adventure because we are covering 4 different area’s around the convention center (this also includes a spot at the Hilton. I ended up on the 3rd floor (aka the John Malkovich wing and the old part of the convention center). 4 panel rooms total. Ideally staffed with 9 people. Anyways, their were enough things going on to keep us on our toes for most of the day. I managed to get a little blogging time in while I was charging my phone. Some how on my watch I managed to miss the Facebook videographer go off on the volunteer staff and Heather Gold once again requesting that furniture be rearranged minutes before her panel starts. On top of that was the usual need for mac vga cables (because Apple doesn’t believe in interchangeable parts). We also had the internet go out on us along with a few mics.
we muddled through. The plan for the evening is to pick up laminates for the purevolume lounge and then the bags. After that back to Mexico for dinner. Didn’t make it out of the house on time to see Breaking Upwards so we had 10hdg drop us off at the Paramount for Alexander the Last. Pros: Guy from Bishop Allen was in it. Cons: The movie was just too out there. Did an important piece end up on the cutting room floor? M and I cabbed it home.
Cost of today: $2 (for part of the cab ride)
Free stuff: SXSW bags for interactive, film, and music
