Today started out with trick-or-treating w/ Lori. We hit the Sonic Bids party first where I scored some loot and a margarita. Then it was off to Under the Radar where there was lame swag .We were hoping for free Jansport stuff and got a few posters instead. We headed to Hot Freaks at Club DeVille because I saw the Saucony truckout front and I was hoping this was the year that I could get free shoes.
M was already over there. Apparently you could win free shoes. They had these games, pin the crystal on the over used band name and another where you tossed balls into a target. After a few beers, M and I managed to get shirts and a bag but alas, no shoes. We stuck around for $2 all you can drink beer and saw the Obits, Handsome Furs, and American Analog Set (We were stalking them. We saw Andrew play with BSS in January).
By the time we left the show we were pretty drunk. We were drunk-e-mons on parade and we didn’t care. M and I ran into the guys from American Analog Set and we had our pics taken with them. We were drunk. But we didn’t care. Our next stop was Mohawk for the Rosebuds because we missed them the last time they were in town. Unfortunately the sound guy was really bad. We stayed for 5 songs and bailed. We were drunk and we needed food. Drunk-e-mons on parade!
We walked towards the hot dog cart and decided along the way that we should try to get passes to the Spin party to see passion pit. We started asking people as they were leaving Stubbs if we could have their passes (Hey, you miss 100% of the shots you don’t take). We managed to get a guy to give his away. Then we ran into a girl with a stack of them. SUCCESS, then failure. Passion pit had already played and we were too drunk to wait around for Echo and the Bunnymen. We ran into M’s friend and we gave the passes away so they could see the show.
At this point in time we needed food badly. We stopped for street food then we walked the bikes home. I went home to check on the cat (destroyer of curtains and plants). When I got back to Mexico I decided that sleep was more important than going back out for movies or music.
