We went last week to see Tokyo Police Club open for Passion Pit. Jen wrote about it a bit here. They were great! I haven’t seen TPC in years. They sounded great, I guess the sound guy likes them. However, Passion Pit had a great energy, but did not sound so good. The guys were together and all that, but, it was way bass heavy.
Let’s just say that Jen and I got to be a little fun that night. We ended up getting a ride home from a friend (we took the car-to-go to get there) and as we pulled into my driveway, Jen and I started to go through his CDs.
Suffice it to say that Jen now thinks he’s a shoe-gazer lesbian because he listens to Tegan and Sarah. Ha! (Sometimes I’m sure that my stories would be more funny if you were actually there.)

That was a fun evening. I was drunk and a bit of an asshole to our driver. But alas, if M and I are going to call ourselves music snobs, it had to be done.
The evening’s events are a wee bit fuzzy after a week but here is how it went down…
I was sitting in the back of the car with a mountain of burned cd’s with manwriting on them. After rifling through them and finding Feist, Tegan and Sara, and a few other not-so-manly cds I had to inquire if our driver was a lesbian. The gentleman kindly replied that he was. End of story.
Will I ever be invited to ride in the back seat of that vehicle again? Time will tell.

I am said driver.
If you happen to have your music laying around and these two have been drinking, be warned. Also be aware that half the stuff they will pick on you for owning is in fact hidden within the depths of their very own music collections. With the help and support of another of Jen and M’s friend I was able to overcome this traumatic event and also walk away with some ammunition for future encounters with the drunken wit sisters. Mwah ha ha ha!
